The remarkably comfortable, simple, contoured polyfoam shoulder rest for violin or viola, designed and made by Michael Kimber. Unlike other sponge shoulder rests, the polypad is shaped to follow the slope and curve of the shoulder, resulting in good posture and a relaxed instrument hold. The polypad comes in 6 sizes (XXS, XS, S, M, L, XL). It is also available in two different densities; gray or pink for a softer sponge and blue for a firmer sponge.

Please know that your teacher is the very best resource for choosing just the right sponge size for your child and should be accompanied by selecting the correct size and shape of chinrest to suit your child’s unique shape and size of shoulder and neck. As a result, the following guide should only be used as a rough guide.
 
XXS       Tiny sponges that usually fit children aged 3-5.
XS          These will usually fit children aged 5-8.
S             Fits a wide range of ages from children to adults.
M            Is the favourite for adults and teens.
L             Is LARGE! Only suitable for extra long necks.
XL          It is rare to find a player who genuinely needs this size. In general, a higher chinrest is needed in order to solve a comfortable setup, rather than such a large sponge.
